It’s officially now about time to get into the development tools that I’ve been using for GrillVR!

What of GrillVR’s Source Control

For GrillVR I am using GitHub for my source control to make sure I keep up to date with multiple changes as well as revertible changes incase something needs to be changed. GitHub has been very friendly with me so far on the project and it has been a blast to use as source control management will be really important for the project.

What Engine is This Thing Running With?

Unity for me seems to be way more VR friendly for development than Unreal Engine in my opinion. GrillVR is running on Unity, and Unity Version 2020.3.0f1. Updating the engine version may seem like a possibility since there has been updates to Unity’s VR Systems in future versions.

The Editor Behind The Game

Below you will see some of the footage of the Unity Editor and the game itself! It’s been a really exciting project to work on as I started working on it in summer of 2019. So far everything is stable in terms of the editor, as well as optimization for the game because of the stylized art style!

Where’s & What About The Gameplay?

So unfortunately my VR Setup is back at home in Michigan, but today I’m going to ask some of my professors about the access to the VR Labs at the Becker Campus and next week I’m going to get some gameplay footage going for you guys! I’m really proud of this project and I’m looking forward to pushing some of the development goals that I mentioned in last weeks blog post. The VR Labs here should play out completely fine and I can’t wait! I’m super excited about this opportunity to work on GrillVR again, as I took a break in the Spring of 2021 for college work.
